In most organisations, for the past two decades, sustainability has been seen as a job description, the role of a lone operative or small team within an organisation, charged with the responsibility of acting as ‘organisational conscience’ across complex business or government structures. This model, for the most part, has not seen the shift towards ethical, environmentally responsible, or socially impactful decision-making move fast enough to insure organisations against reputational risk in a digital age; nor to realise the significant impact, cost and opportunity dividends that cross-organisational sustainability could yield.
In this session, The City of Canning’s Sustainability Lead, Melanie Bainbridge, will take participants through a reframing of the language of sustainability (as the ultimate outcome of best practice impact management) and demonstrate how taking an evaluative learning and development approach to organisational impact management, underpinned by simple technology / data driven processes can influence an entity’s progress towards authentic, achievable and measurable sustainability.
