HudsonUP is providing $500 each month to selected Hudson residents over a period of 5 years. The program has been designed to benefit the Hudson community and demonstrate the power of basic income for all. For one year, we have had 25 participants, and now we’re adding an additional 50 to cover over 1% of Hudson’s population.
Martin Luther King Jr. once expressed “I’m now convinced that the simplest approach will prove to be the most effective —the solution to poverty is to abolish it directly by a now widely discussed measure: the guaranteed income.”
We believe strongly that Universal Basic Income (UBI) is going to be a (if not the) pivotal tool in ending poverty in a dignified way.
