Dance MOVES for PD is a 1.25 hour virtual dance movement program designed for people with Parkinson’s Disease, and accessible to people of all mobility levels including senior citizens and wheelchair users.

The class format mirrors the trademarked Dance for PD structure, for which the class instructor is trained. Dancers begin by grounding themselves through seated movement meditation and dynamic activity, followed by assisted standing movement. Participants then proceed with movement through the space, culminating in a choreographed combination and closing circle.

Throughout the class, dancers are exposed to a variety of music genres from classical ballet to folk dance, Broadway, and collective improvisation and co-creation.

Whether seated or standing, all students are engaged in the art of dance and the physical, mental, and emotional benefits it delivers.
